Clear communication is the key to a strong relationship with your dog. Many owners struggle with this, but at The Cultured Canine, we can help! Our expert trainers use positive techniques to build a better bond, improve behavior, and create lasting results.

Building a Stronger Bond Between You and Your Dog

At the Cultured Canine, we believe that successful training isn’t just about teaching your dog commands—it’s about educating you, the owner, too. While your dog’s obedience and behavior are essential, your role as a confident leader and effective communicator is the key to long-term success.

Our approach focuses on teaching at both ends of the leash, providing you with the tools and knowledge to guide your dog effectively. Whether it’s mastering basic commands, correcting unwanted behaviors, or refining advanced skills, we work closely with you to ensure that you and your dog are working as a cohesive team.

We take pride in educating owners on everything from consistent communication to understanding canine behavior. When you understand how to lead your dog, you’ll foster a deeper, more trusting bond, setting the foundation for a well-behaved, happy companion.

Shape Your Dream Dog Life

What if we told you that a stress-free life with your dog isn’t just a dream? Imagine a life where your dog no longer jumps on guests, comes when called, and enjoys peaceful walks without pulling on the leash. These training goals are entirely achievable with the right approach, and it all starts with your commitment to investing in a better life for both you and your dog.
You’re not the only dog owner facing challenges like leash pulling, jumping, barking, or nipping. Hundreds of dog owners are dealing with the same behaviors and frustrations. But here’s the difference — you’re ready to take action and make a change. Taking that first step is essential for transforming your dog’s behavior and building a harmonious relationship.
Remember, no one is perfect. The journey to a well-trained dog starts with small improvements and allowing yourself room to grow. Just like making your bed in the morning can set a positive tone for the day, each step you take in dog training will lead to greater success. Your dog is ready to learn and grow—are you?
Training your dog in essential skills like sit, stay, and down is just the beginning. It’s equally important that both you and your dog understand the “whys” behind the training process. Our professional dog trainers are here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring that both ends of the leash are aligned. Together, we’ll create a peaceful, balanced life that you can enjoy for years to come.

Empower your dog by educating yourself.

I reached out several trainers and got the best vibe from Cultured Canine during first calls. Dave came out to work with us and our Bulldog and with only 4 private lessons thus far, we have a “new dog” behavior-wise. Dave modeled what we are supposed to do and gave really clear directions for practice in between lessons. I would recommend Dave to anyone!

Absolutely great place to take your dog for training. Lucas is an excellent balanced trainer and really sets you and your dog up for success. I've noticed a significant improvement in my dog Arthur (and his brother by proxy). We can take them both to off leash areas and even the busy farmer's market! I've also gotten several compliments from people about how well trained my dogs are.

Me and my girlfriend dropped our 9 year old dog Luca off at a Cultured Canine, and he trained with Lucas for five weeks at the board and train. I can’t express how happy we are with the results of his training. Luca had severe separation anxiety. He was attached at our hip and would not leave our side ever. If he wasn’t with somebody, he would freak out, rip everything apart and has hurt himself several times during these moments of panic. I was worried about bringing him into any training because of his age. I didn’t know if it was too late, but I’m so glad we did it. He has a much better quality of life and now we have the tools to help manage his anxiety and it has been worlds better. Not only did it help his anxiety, but it helped us learn about our dog and really helps us bond with him because we can communicate so well now. Thank you so much to everybody on the team at the Cultured Canine.

Taking my dog to Cultured Canine for the 6 week board & train program was hands down the best decision I've ever made. My life has become so much easier since I dropped off my super reactive, loud, do-whatever-I-want dog, only to pick up a dog that actually listens to me and can go for a walk without barking & lunging at everything! Each day, I'm more and more impressed as my dog continues to acclimate at home, maintaining his new good habits. The positive change is remarkable – he's still the happy, loving dog I always knew, but now he listens, doesn’t pull while walking (actually walks RIGHT next to me which I never knew was possible for him), knows so many new commands, and is hardly ever reactive now! Lucas and the team were so helpful during the process, and the post-boarding training sessions have taught me so much! Of course as the owner you still have to work with and train your dog yourself when it’s back, but this has just made training much more easier, and dare I say, fun?! I enjoy training sessions with my dog now that he actually knows the basics and pays attention to me — I actually look forward to our walk sessions of us just going back and forth for half an hour on the same stretch of sidewalk, and can’t wait to graduate him to even longer walks. I’d give 10/5 stars if I could. Never in my wildest dreams did I think my dog could behave like this. I’m just so amazed by it all and so excited to see what the future holds for my dog and I now! The training team at the Cultured Canine has reduced my stress level by properly training my Great Pyrenees/lab mix rescue dog. After the initial consultation it was explained to me that my dog has high levels of anxiety. She stayed with Lucas and his family for 4 weeks. The team kept in contact with weekly updates and homework assignments to prepare for my dog’s return home. When it was time for her to return Dave spent the afternoon with me and my son transitioning her back home. The team has a group text so you can ask questions and someone will get back to you every time! Every day I am grateful I made this decision. My dog is not a stressor in my life anymore. Thanks to the training program team at the Cultured Canine.

If you want the peace of mind that comes with having a well trained dog, I highly recommend The Cultured Canine. They took great care working with my 3 year old rescue dog. After training her they worked with me to make sure the transition was complete. I can now enjoy being with my dog instead of worrying about her.

Cyrus is a great dog but just too big for his britches. Great temperament but too strong to be jumping all over people. He knows his commands but is still so very immature at 1 yr old(Cane Corso) he really needed manners. It’s a work in progress but he improves every day. The 2 months of weekly training sessions at the Harleysville location have been incredibly helpful. 👍

Lucas is a truly gifted trainer and extremely professional business owner. His dedication to his craft is something that is very tough to come by as many trainers are in it for a quick buck and are generally a lot less experienced than they pretend to be. Lucas is in it for the long haul and the betterment of all dogs lives. Since dog training is primarily about training the handler, communication is key. His training style is methodical, communicated in digestible chunks, and easy to follow. If you truly love your dog, and are willing to put in the required work, you absolutely will see the results you are looking for with him. You also will experience a brand new level of what it means to love your dog. Cultured Canine is the real deal.

Lucas and his team are truly amazing and very professional. Our Odin (great Dane) 1yr 1/2 year old andb130lbs was nipping, guarding, became very protective and unruly. He was becoming harder to deal with bc of his size. Lucas took the time to assess our dog. Where most trainers who met him labeled him aggressive and a bite threat. Lucas saw great potential and welcomed Odin into the Cultured Canine program. He made a suggestion of the 5-week Train& Board. ( more hard on mommy than Odin) Lucas team kept our family up to date with weekly progress reports, pictures, and videos. About 1 or 2 weeks before he came home, his team sent homework for us. Important words and techniques Odin was responding to. Odin is like a new dog he not so nervous around people. He doesn't guard anymore. He is easy to handle in all situations. He even got so many compliments at the vet that he didn't need a muzzle and was joy to be around. We are very grateful for the program and would highly recommend them. When Odin came, Lucas team spent 2 hours going over keywords, techniques, and suggestions that would help our home. Odin was trained on E collar, so they walked us through how to use this tool. Even when the program was over we could still communicate with Odin trainers ask questions we had they go back to us or even sent links for tools etc. We also do leash classes with his trainer to help our family be more comfortable walking him. We love Odin and am so thankful for their help. Thank you

Our girl was a handful... totally unmanageable for us. We tried private sessions with a different organization, but one hour a week wasn't helping. She was uncontrollable both in the house and was massively reactive to other dogs. We reached out to The Cultured Canine and were immediately impressed... from the first phone call. We decided to place her in a 5 week board-and-train program. We missed her terribly, but received weekly updates, which helped. She came home an entirely different dog. She walks nicely on a leash, knows several commands and actually listens to us. While she still has minimal reactivity to other dogs, she's still improving with every interaction. She's been home for just over 2 months and, while it's a lot of work, it's totally worth it to maintain her skills (and ours) and to continue growing our relationship with her. We have training sessions 3 times daily and she goes on 3-4 walks a day - all of which she's excited to do. She's worth it. She's now a lovely, wonderful, snuggly dog. We love that our 5 week program includes weekly classes and actually plan on continuing with those classes when the included months run out. We learn so much! The whole team has been incredible to work with and answers questions clearly and with suggestions. We invested in our furbaby and she is well worth it! Thank you to Lucas and the rest of the team! We love learning how to best teach and have fun with our girl. We cannot say enough positive things about The Cultured Canine!
